One of my favorite things to read (and write) are lists of people’s favorite things. A good recipe they tried, an Amazon find they can’t live without, things like that. It’s kind of like the good parts of a week — the silver linings, so to speak. With that, grab a cup of coffee and join me for this week’s silver linings! My hope is that you grab a new recipe to try, or an idea to help you step away from the stress of life and relax.
Best thing I ate this week:
- salmon Niçoise salad at Nordstrom cafe (yes I did have to ask the server how to pronounce this)
- Giant turkey meatball from skinnytaste cookbook – I found it here online. Serve it up with a salad and pasta and you’re done. I did separate it into 4 smaller meatballs so it would cook quicker.
- Pumpkin snickerdoodles – I’ve made these for two different occasions and they’re a hit every time. My daughter also helped with the rolling in the cinnamon and sugar, so a great recipe for kids to help with.
- Cranberry walnut bread from Costco, buttered & toasted. It’s $9 a loaf. And I can’t stop buying it.
Best thing I drank this week: Nespresso gingerbread coffee pod
A moment that brought me peace: one day for my lunch break I left my phone and smart watch inside and read on the patio for an hour, uninterrupted. Pure bliss.
What I’m reading this week: finished The Five Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand // picking up next: resuming Crescent City (Book 2) by Sarah J Mass.
Something my kids loved this week: re-painting pumpkins. This flower building set. This night sky projector (with a timer) that is already in my top Amazon purchases of the year.
What I saw and loved but didn’t buy: these boots and this whimsical Christmas puzzle set.
Recent Amazon orders:
- hair tie cutters (thanks Paige!)
- A nap mat and these simple tees for my son
- A refill of my favorite tinted spf
Hope you had a wonderful week!
