This simple Paleo and Whole30 Tuna Salad is such an easy go-to lunch! Stuff it in a hollowed out bell pepper, put it in lettuce wraps, or throw it between two slices of bread for a non-Whole30 option.
Tuna salad is one of those things that I’ll crave in phases.
I’ll get a hankering for it, make it a few times over the course of a few weeks, and then I’m over it for a while. Does anyone else have foods like that?
During Whole30, tuna salad was of my go-to lunches when there wasn’t enough leftovers from dinner the night before. I always had SafeCatch Tuna and homemade mayo on hand just in case. I love that SafeCatch Tuna is sustainably caught, tested for mercury, the company practices dolphin safe fishing, and I know I’m getting good quality fish. This isn’t sponsored, I just love supporting brands that do good!
Also, Costco now carries SafeCatch Tuna! Yassssss.

What You’ll Need
- Your favorite canned tuna
- Homemade mayo (or Paleo/Whole30 approved mayo like Primal Kitchen’s)
- Red onion
- Lemon juice (This tool is the best EVER for lemon and lime juice. I’m usually against really “specific” kitchen tools, but this one is so worth it for $8.)
- Celery
- Salt & pepper
That’s it.
Yep, seriously.
There are other tuna salad recipes out there that are way fancier, but sometimes simple is best. You’ll come back to this recipe time and time again!
Also, can I just say that it is so satisfying to eat this out of a hollowed out bell pepper? I recommend orange or red for the best flavor. It’s so much fun. Yes, I just called eating tuna salad out of a pepper “fun”.
I hope you enjoy this simple Paleo & Whole30 Tuna Salad! Stuff it in a pepper, put it on lettuce wraps, serve it over some greens or put it between two slices of bread if you’re not about that Paleo/Whole30 life.
