This simple recipe for Sundried Tomato and Feta Turkey Burgers is the perfect healthy alternative for those summer grilling nights! Serve it up with grilled zucchini or baked sweet potato fries!
My husband likes to call these burgers “meatloaf burgers”.
He thinks it’s so weird that I put add-ins into the patties…I just roll my eyes at him. It adds so much flavor!
Does anyone else love burgers with add-ins?!
If you’re hesitant about turkey burgers as opposed to your hearty American beef burger, I totally understand. I’m proud to say that my husband now tells people that we eat mostly ground turkey instead of ground beef, and he can’t even taste the difference anymore.
We use ground turkey for burgers, taco meat, meatballs, meat sauce for pasta, and more. It’s a healthy swap for ground beef- give it a try!
Sundried Tomato and Feta Turkey Burgers Ingredients
I always like to share with y’all why I pick certain ingredients, what they contribute, and what you can swap out if you’re not so into something.
Five things are added to the ground turkey: (P.S., by far the best tasting ground turkey we’ve tried is the Butterball ground turkey from Costco).
- Red onion
- Chopped spinach
- Feta cheese
- Sundried tomatoes
- Salt and pepper
The chopped spinach is totally optional- I like it because it adds some green and extra nutrients. You could add kale instead, too.
These are the sundried tomatoes we always have on hand. I love love love them on pizza (and in these burgers, duh). They’re a must for this recipe!
Grill ’em up just like you would any other burger!
These fresh sides are some of my favorites to whip up with these turkey burgers:
You may notice the sausages being grilled on that top rack. My husband likes ground turkey, but still very much would rather his jalapeno kielbasa sausage if it’s around 😉
I may write a post on living with a significant other who is not a health nut (like me), and how we make it work! Let me know if that’s something y’all would be interested in!
Okay, because I know the question you’re asking. What the heck is that thing.
I swapped a burger bun for a portobello mushroom cap.
If you’ve seen the idea and have been wondering what it’s like- TRY IT. I actually really liked it. It’s no bread, obviously, but it was pretty yummy. Side note: if you try it, please use a sharp knife and cut the portobello mushroom cap so it’s not as thick… I figured that out after we snapped these photos🙈
Try these next time you’re grilling and let me know what you think!
