These 10-Minute Whole Wheat Pita Pizzas are perfect for at-home pizza nights during the week! Each person can create their own pizza masterpiece and they’re ready to eat in ten minutes!
Pizza night is a big deal in our household.
I’m talking the counters get cleared, we get out the pizza stone, we chop and dice every topping known to mankind, and we create our masterpieces.
For the base, we usually choose between marinara, homemade pesto, or BBQ sauce.
For meats, we typically have chicken, pepperoni, or bacon. Sometimes all three.
For vegetables, there’s always spinach, tomatoes, black olives, bell pepper, red onion, sundried tomatoes and mushrooms.
For cheeses, we go all out and get the the fresh mozzarella balls. And my husband stuffs his crusts with it, y’all.
You better believe that dough is made from scratch, too.
Making pizza together is a special at-home date night for us. It’s actually what we do for Valentine’s Day each year instead of going out and fighting crowds and two hour waits at restaurants!
But let me be real with y’all.
There’s some nights when I want pizza and we’ve both had 10+ hour days at work and ain’t nobody got time for homemade dough and prepping a pizza feast.
Ya feel me?
Enter: these 10-minute whole wheat pita pizzas 🙌
Making Your Pizza
We keep whole wheat pita on hand in the freezer, and I always have a jar of Delallo pizza sauce in our pantry for emergency pizza situations.
Simply pull your pita out of the freezer and let it defrost while you prep your toppings- whatever you have on hand works! Spread your base, add seasoning, throw your toppings on, and pop it in the oven. In 10 minutes, YOU HAVE PIZZA.
The pita is firm enough to hold the wonderfulness of your toppings on its shoulders. It also gets nice and crispy around the edges. (A definite must for pizza)
A little disclaimer here: This whole wheat pita pizza is definitely more on the “thin crust” pizza side of life, so if you’re a thin crust pizza lover (🙋) then this is your slice of pie (ha.)
Also, you may have noticed there’s no cheese on this pizza. I promise I’m not THAT much of a health nut that I don’t let myself have cheese on my pizza, y’all. I love cheese. Brie is my favorite. But I’m cutting out dairy for a few reasons (doing a whole blog post on it!), so this pizza is all veggie. And it was delicious, and ready so much faster than our traditional homemade pizza date night!
