If you’re having your second kid, you know how it goes: you typically just need diapers, wipes, and maybe clothes if you’re having a boy and your first was a girl (or vice versa). When I was pregnant with my second, I scoured lists about what you really need for your second kid. Turns out, it’s not much! Whether you’re expecting your first or you’re a seasoned mom, I’m sharing a list of the things we used the most!
Keekaroo Changing Pad – Easy clean up. Minimalistic look. (Though I will say, this one looks just as good for significantly less money. I probably would have gotten this if it was around when I had my first.)
Baby K’Tan Wrap – Loved this the first time around but I used this so much more with my second since I had a toddler to keep up with in addition to the newborn. My husband also had one in his size and used it often. I found this Baby K’Tan look-a-like for less that may be worth a try.
Lillebaby Carrier – After a few months, I switch to this carrier. It’s so supportive and my back never hurts after using it. I often used this for walks around the neighborhood with my first. This was actually a hand me down and it’s still in great shape.
Skip Hop Mat – Our morning routine was nurse, diaper change, and then downstairs to this mat while I ate breakfast. Both my kids loved this thing. Here is the one we have, but this one is so cute too.
Skip Hop Activity Table – I’m sensing a theme here with Skip Hop. This table is very well loved in our house. I love that it converts from an infant seat to a table for kids, so it’s multipurpose. When our first outgrew it, we used it as an activity table with these chairs.
Oliver’s Labels – I ordered the preschool pack for my daughter and just got a sports themed pack for my son. Love these things, and they stay on in the washing machine and dishwasher. I will say I don’t feel like they stay on metal water bottles that great, and likely will order some of these silicone bands for water bottles.
Drawer Organizers – Call me crazy but even if my kid’s room is a mess, I can open a drawer and see it organized and feel like I somewhat have things together. Anyone else? I have these in both kid’s dressers.
Plus the two new things we bought and love: Brezza sterilizer (got ours on FB marketplace!) and these semi cute burp cloths (if burp cloths can be cute).
