I swear yesterday was March 1st.
If you’re new around here, I wrap up each month by sharing my favorite things! Things to read, things to shop, things to wear, and other odds and ends. It’s a fun way to share with y’all a little more about me aside from all the food I cook😉
March was extra special for us because we celebrated our one year wedding anniversary! The first year has been a whirlwind: job changes, moving, and uncertainty, but through it all it has been wonderful getting to do it all with my husband by my side. I’ve loved watching him grow as a person and us grow together. We’re headed to Mexico in April for both our honeymoon and our one year anniversary trip wrapped into one! Most of these “to wear” things are coming with me😉
To Wear
- I’ve been loving adding barre into my workout routine, and when I saw this tank, I knew I had to have it. “WILL TUCK FOR TACOS” 😂
- I tried on this Madewell sweater a few weeks ago and fell in LOVE with how soft and well made (ha) it was. It’s marked down to $44, too!
- These Nike Free’s will absolutely be on my feet when we head to the airport. I found them here at Zappo’s for $80, down from their regular price of $100.
- Every beach trip needs the perfect floppy hat. I can’t tell y’all how many I tried on until I found this perfect one at Nordstrom. Most of the hats I tried on had too wide of a brim, but this one is just right. It looks kind of weird in the picture, but I promise it’s cute on. Bonus: it’s only $25!
Home Finds
I’ve always been iffy about decorating temporary homes. In college, the walls of our living room and my bedroom were pretty bare. I was never motivated enough to hang art or put up curtains. I always figured, well, I’ll only be here X amount of months anyway.
Fast forward to now, our apartment. A few weeks ago I though to myself, “Screw it. I’m going to decorate. There may be holes in the wall when we move out, but we can patch them up. I want to make this place our home.” (Yes, I give myself talks like this) I’m so excited about my new project, but my wallet is not 😂 Also, husband is not thrilled about the idea of more throw pillows.
- I’ve been wanting to create a gallery wall around our TV, but knew I needed one piece to be the focal point. I saw this sign a few weeks ago at Hobby Lobby and knew I had found the piece! Using their weekly 40% off coupon brought it to around $25.
- Last summer, I convinced Andrew to stop at The Silos in Waco, TX to check out Chip & Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Market! I loved a lot of things, but mostly was overwhelmed by A. the amount of people and B. the crazy prices. I didn’t buy a thing. I did love these galvanized steel script words I found, but didn’t want to pay $40. They had cute things like “love”, “laugh”, and “gather”. I found the EXACT same “gather” sign at Hobby Lobby for $11.99! Perfect for a kitchen, living room and dining room.
- We’re getting a new couch! Macy’s had a crazy sale a few weeks ago, and after one year of fitting two humans and a dog onto a 2 person couch, we knew we needed to upgrade. Even Sadie has been getting off the couch and curling up in her bed instead because she knows there’s not enough room. I have some navy velvet throw pillows and am hoping to add some white and blue patterned ones similar to this and this.
I plan on putting together a post on our living room refresh on a budget soon!
To Cook
- These DELICIOUS paleo morning glory muffins that are perfect to meal prep for breakfast or snacks. I swapped the flour for Nuzest vanilla protein to give them some extra protein. You can use the code ASIMPLIFIEDLIFE for 15% off your first order + free shipping over $50!
- I’m obsessed with this Grain Free Whole30 Approved Oatmeal. It’s so simple and so good. Make it the night before and pack it in a mason jar to eat at your desk! Top with almond butter. A generous amount😉
