Have y’all seen those people who stand in the aisle of the grocery store holding two different boxes close to their face, reading the ingredients on each one? I’m a little bit embarrassed to say I’m that girl. Ever since starting my healthy lifestyle, I have to read the ingredients on everything. With a few exceptions- like Velveeta. I don’t want to know. Just give me my queso. Spices is one of those things that manufacturers put SO much extra stuff in. If I’m using taco seasoning, I just want pure, good spices. Not taco seasoning + a boat load of salt + additives + preservatives. Today I’m sharing an easy recipe for making your own taco seasoning blend at home!
Since you don’t want to make this every time you need taco seasoning, just double or triple the ingredients and keep the extra sealed in an airtight container. My favorite way to use this taco seasoning is to use it to season chicken, pour salsa over the chicken, top with cheese, and bake in the oven! It’s a go-to dinner for us and it’s so quick. I’ll be sharing it on the blog soon!
I just can’t resist- how cute is that spoon?
