Hello, December! It’s hard to believe that it’s already here. Between Christmas decorating, Christmas shopping, and planning out the end of the year, things have been an absolute whirlwind in our household.
Did anyone else feel like it was hard to get a grasp on things this post- Thanksgiving week? But today is friYAY, and I’ve got some fun things for y’all this week!

I had to share with y’all this moment that happened this morning. I try to do my devotional reading each morning after Andrew and I get back from working out. He’ll jump in the shower and I have about 10 minutes before I jump in after him. During those 10 minutes I’ll sit down with my devotional and journal and spend some time with Jesus. I’ve been a little distracted lately and missed more than a few mornings with Him. Yesterday morning I found myself using that 10 minutes to unload the dishwasher instead of reading my devotional. The story of Martha and Mary immediately came into my head (Luke 38:42) , where Martha is busily preparing for Jesus’ arrival, bustling around the house. Jesus arrives and Mary sits at his feet while Martha is scurrying trying to get ready. Martha becomes irritated with Mary and asks Jesus something along the lines of, “Can’t you see she’s not helping?”. I imagine Jesus smiling as he tells Martha, “Mary has chosen what is better and it will not be taken away from her.” Yesterday, I was Martha when I should have been Mary. Take the time to be still and spend time with Jesus. This morning, I opened up my First5 app, and what was the story? You guessed it. Martha and Mary.
Thanks so much for stopping by, friends!
Happy Friday,
