The combination of white chocolate and peppermint flavors is my weakness.
Add in Oreos and I’m done.
Just leave me here with this plate, ok?
The entire month of December I’ve been craving peppermint bark, but it’s always so expensive, am I right?!
I started thinking about making it myself, and found some ideas for peppermint Oreo truffles and a similar peppermint Oreo bark. I knew I would be in a baking mood Christmas Eve, so I picked up a few ingredients and decided to figure it out myself! The result was a cookies & cream peppermint bark that taste exactly like the cookies and cream Hershey’s bars, but with a peppermint twist!
I love that this Cookies & Cream Peppermint Bark takes less than twenty minutes, and only about five of those minutes are hands on! You could totally get your kids in on the action by having them smash the Oreos and candy canes.
Four ingredients + less than twenty minutes = my kind of dessert.
What you’ll need:
- 15 ounces of white chocolate chips
- Peppermint extract
- 1 package of Oreos
- Candy canes (about 5-7 will do)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 200 and line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper. Make sure to leave extra so you can pull it out of the pan after it’s cooled.
- Place about half the package of Oreos in a gallon sized ziploc and smash with a rolling pin or the bottom of a glass. Do the same with the candy canes.
- Pour the smashed Oreos into the bottom of the 9×13 pan and shake it so they’re even. In a bowl, toss together the white chocolate chips with a few drops of peppermint extract. Pour evenly over the Oreos.
- Place the pan in the oven for 10 minutes. Once it’s finished, use a spatula and mix it all together. I found it was easiest to do all the mixing and then focus on spreading out the mix in the pan.
- Sprinkle with crushed peppermint (as little or as much as you’d like) and pop it in the fridge or freezer to harden. 30 minutes will do in the fridge, about 10 in the freezer.
- Break into pieces with your hand or a knife if needed. We store ours in the fridge!
